21.SEPTEMBER.2007

Creeped around Motueka for a while. I bought us some anti itch medicine for all our sand fly bites, which are definitely the Hitler of all bugs. Let me tell you a little about sand flies bites. They’re like a chigger and mosquito bite combined. And they itch like no other. The worst is I still got them lingering on my feet three weeks later.
Small world it is, we ended up running into nine of our friends from the village. Out of all the places, it was so buzzy to be sitting in our van in a parking lot and see them drive by and honk. We all chatted for a bit and then went our separate ways with the intention of meeting up later the next day.

We continued our journey south down the west coast where we stopped off at a seal colony for a bit.

Drove a little further and camped for the night next to the beach in Punakaiki. Few hours later our three vans of village mates showed up and we all headed down to the beach.
